Hi Guys,
My name is Remi Lewis Young and I am a soon to be graduate of the Arts University Bournemouth, England. My interests lie in Portraiture and photo documentary with a passion for film. There is something about the quality of photographic film that still cant be matched by the most expensive DSLR. I love using it and try my best to shoot it as often as my bank balance allows.
This photograph is part of my final major project for my BA (hons) Photography degree and it will be exhibited in an upcoming exhibition in London this July! Check it out here. For this project I was exploring the camera’s effect on the sitter. Through the years at Uni I have been experimenting with Portraiture and battling against ‘the pose’, I shot mostly candid street photography for a long time as I felt it revealed more realism within my subjects. With this series I finally found a way to relax my subjects and get them to drop their normal ‘pose’ or ‘guise’, these images depict the sitters shortly after their usual exhaustive work out routine. Let me know what you think!
